Chapter 01

Welcome to SCSK

What SCSK is, how this manual is organised, and the safest way to begin.

What SCSK does

Construction Site Manager SCSK keeps projects, jobs, site evidence, checklists, materials, inventory, notes, contacts, calendars and reports in one local-first workspace.

The app is designed for work that moves between the field and office. You can record work without reception, then let an eligible paid plan synchronise supported records when a connection returns.

How to use this manual

Use Contents to jump to a chapter. Search matches chapter titles, instructions and glossary definitions. On a phone, open Contents from the book icon; on a wider screen it remains beside the chapter.

  • Button and menu names appear exactly as they are labelled in SCSK.
  • A locked feature requires a plan that includes it.
  • Store prices and currencies come from the Apple App Store or Google Play storefront tied to your store account.
  • Calculators provide estimates; verify quantities, safety requirements and compliance before ordering or building.

Recommended first session

  1. Create or sign in to your SCSK account.
  2. Complete Guided Setup to create your first project and job.
  3. Open the project and add a photo, note or document.
  4. Review Settings, especially Auto Sync, Auto Sync Scope and App Lock.
  5. If you use a paid plan, allow the first sync to finish before relying on another device.

Chapter 02

Install, update and platforms

Install the correct release, keep it current and understand platform differences.

Supported experiences

SCSK is tailored for Android, Windows and iOS. The core project and job workflows are aligned, while store billing, sign-in choices, sensors, sharing and device permissions can differ by platform.

  • iOS: Apple Sign-In is presented first, followed by email/password and Google. Subscribe on the SCSK website or through Apple inside the app.
  • Android: email/password and Google are available. Subscribe on the SCSK website or through Google Play.
  • Windows: the desktop layout is optimised for a larger workspace. Subscribe on the SCSK website; store-specific mobile features and device sensors may be unavailable.

Install and update safely

  1. Install from the official store or the Windows download on sc-sk.com.
  2. Before replacing an older installation, open SCSK and confirm important changes are saved and, if your plan supports it, synced.
  3. Install the update over the existing app. Do not uninstall merely to update unless support specifically instructs you and your data is protected.
  4. After updating, open Settings and confirm the App Version shown under About.

Chapter 03

Account, sign-in and guided setup

Create an account, choose a sign-in method and build your first workspace.

Sign-in choices

Use the same sign-in identity each time. Signing in with a different provider can create or select a different account unless the identity is already linked.

  • Apple Sign-In: available on Apple devices and shown first on iOS.
  • Email and password: available across supported platforms. Verify your email when prompted.
  • Google Sign-In: available on iOS, Android and Windows where supported by the platform flow.

Create an email account

  1. From the sign-in screen, choose Create Account.
  2. Enter your name, email and a strong password, then accept the required terms.
  3. Open the verification email and complete verification.
  4. Return to SCSK and sign in with the same email and password.

Guided Setup

Guided Setup creates the minimum useful structure: a project first, then a job belonging to that project. You can edit every field later.

  1. Add the project name and the available client, location, date and responsibility details.
  2. Create a job within that project and choose its category, type, priority, status and due date where relevant.
  3. Finish setup to enter the Dashboard.

Chapter 04

Plans and subscriptions

Understand Starter limits, paid tiers, checkout, restore and cancellation.

Starter

Starter is free and local-only. It is intended to let one person try the core workflow on one device.

  • 1 project and 2 jobs.
  • 3 materials and 3 inventory items.
  • Limited tools and built-in checklists.
  • No cloud or cross-device sync, data export, reports, integrations, custom checklist templates or photo annotation.
  • Starter is ad-supported on Android. Ads are not used in the iOS build.

Paid plans

Solo Pro unlocks the full single-user toolset, including unlimited projects and jobs, cloud sync and backup, reports and export, cross-platform access, trade calculators, photo annotation and integrations.

Team 3 and Team 7 add shared workspaces, collaboration and admin controls for up to 3 or 7 team members. Team Unlimited removes the team-seat limit and includes priority support.

Subscribe or restore

You can subscribe on the SCSK website using PayPal, or purchase inside the app through the App Store or Google Play. Website subscriptions activate against your SCSK login email and work across supported platforms.

  1. Choose the plan and billing period that match your needs.
  2. For website checkout, use the same email as your SCSK account.
  3. For in-app checkout, review the exact price and currency shown by your storefront, then continue to the platform checkout.
  4. Keep SCSK open while an in-app purchase is confirmed and the plan unlocks.
  5. If you already purchased with the same store account, use Restore purchases on the payment screen.

Manage or cancel

Apple subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account subscriptions. Google Play subscriptions are managed in Google Play. Cancelling normally stops the next renewal; access continues according to the store subscription period and status.

Chapter 05

Dashboard and navigation

Read the command centre, search the workspace and reach every core area.

Dashboard header

The dashboard header keeps global actions available without leaving your work.

  • Search finds projects, jobs and contacts across the workspace.
  • Help opens this manual inside SCSK.
  • Messages opens team conversations.
  • Notifications opens reminders and alerts.
  • Logout ends the current account session after confirmation.

Operational overview

Dashboard cards summarise active projects, open jobs, status counts, due or overdue work, unsynced photos, pending notes and recent activity. Counts may briefly show a loading state during initial hydration.

Use Quick Actions for New Project, New Job and Snap Photo. The remaining tiles open Calendar, Materials, Inventory, Contacts, Notes, Reports, Tools, Checklists, Gallery, Weather, Integrations and Settings.

The Pending notes figure counts open jobs that contain notes; it is not an unsynced-note count. Use the Syncing indicator, Photo Sync Health and Errors & Diagnostics when checking cloud transfer.

Search and back navigation

Use Search when you know a record name but not its project. Use the page back button to return without losing the record you were viewing. On supported screens, selecting a linked project or job opens its details directly.

Chapter 06

Projects

Create the top-level container for jobs, documents, evidence and reporting.

Create a project

  1. Choose New Project from the Dashboard or Create from Projects.
  2. Enter the project name and any useful description, location, client, contacts, manager, dates, priority, status and budget information.
  3. Save. SCSK creates the local record immediately and queues eligible cloud work separately.

Use project details

A project brings together progress, budget information, linked jobs, project photos, notes, documents and plans. Quick Actions let you add a job, capture a photo, upload a document or start a report.

  • Jobs: create or open work belonging to this project.
  • Documents & Plans: upload, download, open, rename, share or delete PDFs, Word files, spreadsheets, text files and images.
  • Photos: capture or review evidence associated with the project and its jobs.
  • Notes: keep project-specific text and drawings attached to the record.
  • Status: Planning, Active, On Hold, Completed or Cancelled.

Documents and PDF pages

PDFs open inside SCSK with page and zoom controls. Other supported document types open through a compatible app on the device.

PDF drawing is not performed directly on the original file. To mark up a PDF page, capture the visible page to Project Photos, then annotate that saved image when your plan includes Photo Annotation.

Archive, share and delete

Archive removes a project from the normal active view without treating it as a permanent deletion. Share prepares project information for another app.

Delete permanently removes the project record after confirmation, but it does not automatically delete separate linked jobs, files or photos. Review those records separately if they must also be removed. Archive is safer when history may still be needed.

Chapter 07

Jobs, templates and punch lists

Break a project into accountable work, assign it and keep a revision history.

Create and organise jobs

Every job can belong to a project and records a title, category, work type, status, priority, dates, assignment, description and other accountability fields enabled by company requirements.

  • Statuses: Pending, In Progress, On Hold, Completed and Cancelled.
  • Types include Standard Work, Defect, Variation, Inspection, Safety, Incomplete Work, Rework, Provisional Item and Handover.
  • Templates speed up repeat work and can prefill a new job.

Work from job details

The job overview shows its project, priority, due date and photo count. Tabs separate Overview, Tasks, Activity and Reports.

  • Use Photo to capture job evidence or Gallery to attach existing evidence.
  • Use Punch List to create and track tasks, defects or action items.
  • Use Sign Off when the current revision requires approval.
  • Complete marks work finished; Reopen returns a completed job to active work.
  • Create, edit, export, share or delete a linked report from the Reports tab.

Duplicate and revise

Duplicate creates a new Pending job based on an existing one and opens the copy for review. Photos and reports are not copied. Edit significant scope or accountability details carefully: SCSK preserves activity information so the project record explains how the work changed.

Chapter 09

Checklists and templates

Run repeatable site checks and create reusable processes.

Use the checklist library

Open Checklists from the Dashboard to choose a built-in or saved checklist. Residential, Commercial and Renovation templates are included. Built-in templates are read-only and available on Starter.

Within Project Details → Checklists, add a template, tick completed items, add item notes, mark an item Not Applicable, add project-specific items, reorder them and review percentage progress. Removing a project checklist also removes its recorded progress.

Custom templates

Paid plans can create reusable checklist templates. Give the template a clear name, add at least one item, then save. A template marked Default is added automatically to new projects. The editor can add, rename, reorder, reset or remove items and save the revised template.

Checklist or punch list?

A checklist is a reusable, project-oriented process. A punch list belongs to a job and tracks specific defects, incomplete work or follow-up actions.

Chapter 10

Notes and contacts

Record free-form information and connect it to the people and projects involved.

Notes

Notes can contain text and supported drawing content. Create a note from Notes, edit its title and content, and link it to a project when it belongs in that project record.

Deleting a note moves it to Trash first. Use Undo immediately when offered, or review Trash for deleted notes.

Contacts

Contacts stores clients, contractors, suppliers and other people used throughout SCSK. Add names, company and available communication details, then open a contact to call, email, edit or use it as a report recipient where supported.

You can import people from the device Contacts app after granting permission, mark favourites, archive records and filter by trade. Call, SMS, email, map and share actions open the appropriate device app. Contact Details shows associated projects and jobs.

Chapter 11

Calendar, weather and notifications

Schedule work, retain important dates and manage reminders.

Calendar

Calendar combines user-created events with job dates. Tap Add calendar event to enter a title, dates and relevant details. Open an event to review or edit it.

Month, Week and Day views are available. Events can include a location, description, attendees, reminder and daily, weekly, monthly or yearly recurrence. Moving a scheduled job to another date preserves its duration.

Editing or deleting one occurrence of a recurring event currently changes or deletes the whole series. Confirm the series is the intended target.

Non-deleted job calendar metadata remains available even when heavier completed-project files are excluded from automatic sync.

Weather

Weather provides site-planning context when network and location information are available. Report editors can record conditions, temperature and weather delays as part of the formal record.

Notifications

Push notifications and advanced job, overdue, calendar, daily-summary and weather options are supported. Your operating system must also allow notifications for SCSK.

Email and SMS notification switches are shown as not connected yet and cannot currently be enabled. On iOS, change the notification sound in iOS Settings → Notifications → SCSK.

Chapter 12

Materials, receipts and inventory

Build a materials database, import receipt lines and control stock.

Materials

Materials is your reusable catalogue. Search and filter by supplier, add a material manually, create one from an inventory item or scan a receipt to propose line items.

  1. Choose Add Material.
  2. Select Scan Receipt, New Material or From Inventory.
  3. For a receipt, photograph a clear, flat receipt and review every recognised line before importing.
  4. Complete the material name, supplier, quantity, unit, price and other relevant fields, then save.

Inventory

Inventory tracks stock items and quantities, including minimum levels. Use Add Item for new stock, Set Quantity for a correction or count, and filters to find low or relevant items.

Allocating an inventory item to a project or job subtracts its quantity from stock. Changing or deleting that linked allocation reconciles the stock quantity, so review both the work record and inventory after adjustments.

Chapter 13

Reports, PDF export and sharing

Turn structured site activity into professional records.

Available report types

SCSK supports Daily Site, Progress, Defect, Incomplete Work, Non-Conformance (NCR), Variation, Site Instruction, RFI, Safety Incident, Toolbox Talk, Inspection, Quality Assurance, Material Delivery, Weather Delay and Handover reports.

Create a report

  1. Open Reports, or choose Report within a project or job.
  2. Select the report type and the correct project; link a job when appropriate.
  3. Complete the report details. Type-specific sections may include weather, personnel, hours, defects, variation costs, safety information, inspections, tasks, responsibility and follow-up.
  4. Attach new photos or select existing job and project evidence.
  5. Save Draft to continue later, or Submit when the record is ready.

Export and share

Paid plans can export a report to PDF. Review the PDF for names, dates, quantities, photos, recipient details and page layout before sharing it with a client or the office.

Chapter 14

Trade calculators and site tools

Use built-in field utilities and estimate construction quantities.

Always-available site utilities

The Unit Converter is available for common conversions. Compass & Level uses supported mobile-device sensors and may be unavailable on desktop hardware.

Calculator library

Paid plans unlock the trade calculator collection: Tile, Tile Adhesive, Paint, Brick, Grout, Fall Ratio, Engineered Screeds, Sand & Cement, Flooring, Drywall, Aggregate, Stairs, Roof Pitch, Slope & Grade, Lumber, Rebar/Steel, Electrical, Plumbing, Waterproofing, Insulation and Cost Estimator.

  1. Choose metric or imperial units when the calculator offers a toggle.
  2. Enter the measured dimensions and select the material or construction assumptions.
  3. Set wastage deliberately rather than accepting it without review.
  4. Calculate and record the result with the job when it supports a decision.
  5. Verify the result against drawings, manufacturer instructions, codes and a qualified professional.

Chapter 15

Teams, permissions and messages

Invite colleagues, control access and collaborate in a shared workspace.

Team plans and seats

Team 3 supports up to 3 members, Team 7 up to 7, and Team Unlimited has no practical seat cap. The organization owner or an authorised administrator manages invitations and access.

Invite and manage members

  1. Open Team Management from Settings.
  2. Invite the exact email address the person uses for SCSK.
  3. Assign the least access required: Read Only, Edit or Full Control.
  4. The invited user opens Pending Invites and accepts the organization invitation.
  5. Administrators can later change permission, suspend, deny or restore access where supported.

Permission levels

  • Read Only: view projects, jobs and photos without making changes.
  • Edit: view and edit projects, jobs, photos and reports, without admin functions.
  • Full Control: full access, including team management and settings.

Messages

Open Messages from the Dashboard header to use Team Chat or a direct conversation with an active member. Send text and supported images or files, copy a message, or delete one of your own messages. Keep project-critical instructions in the formal project or job record as well as chat.

Chat text and attachments are encrypted for participants and encryption keys are stored on the device. After reinstalling or changing devices, some older encrypted messages may be unavailable.

Chapter 16

Offline work, sync and backup

Know what is local, what is queued, and how to keep the interface responsive.

Local-first behaviour

SCSK writes supported changes to the device before network work. A paid plan queues cloud changes and synchronises them in the background; Starter remains on one device only.

Sync follows a protected order: queued local changes push before newer cloud records pull. Normal navigation and dashboard scrolling do not wait for the entire sync.

Auto Sync and scope

Use Settings → Auto Sync to enable or disable automatic runs. Auto Sync Scope selects which project and job statuses receive heavier child-data and file downloads. Active, Planning and On Hold are the normal defaults; you can deliberately include other statuses.

New photo uploads are protected independently of download scope so a photo you captured can still back up even if its job later becomes completed.

Manual sync and recovery

  1. Connect to a stable network and keep SCSK open.
  2. Use Sync Now from the dashboard sync panel when you need an immediate run.
  3. Read the result instead of repeating the button rapidly; duplicate requests are coordinated into one run.
  4. For photo-specific warnings, open Settings → Photo Sync Health.
  5. For broader failures, open Settings → Errors & Diagnostics and run the available checks.

Backup and restore

Settings → Backup & Restore can trigger a cloud backup or restore supported data for eligible plans. Confirm the signed-in account before restoring so you do not expect data from a different workspace.

Chapter 17

External integrations

Connect Procore, OneDrive or Google Drive without mixing account ownership.

Availability

Integrations require Solo Pro or a Team plan. Open Integrations from the Dashboard or Settings to see connection status.

Connect a provider

  1. Choose Procore, Microsoft OneDrive or Google Drive.
  2. Select Connect or Sign In and complete the provider’s official authorization screen.
  3. Review the account name shown after connection.
  4. Browse supported files and confirm the intended provider folder or project before downloading, uploading, opening or sharing.
  5. Disconnect from the integration settings when the account should no longer be accessible from this device.

Provider capabilities

  • Procore: choose a company and project, browse folders and download documents.
  • OneDrive: browse or search folders, download, upload, open in the browser and share links.
  • Google Drive: browse or search, download or export supported Workspace files, upload, open and share.
Back to contents ↑
Chapter 18

Settings, security and account control

Adjust the app, protect access, diagnose problems and delete an account safely.

Profile and appearance

Settings contains profile editing, language, font size, appearance and haptic controls. Use readable text sizes and a theme appropriate for site lighting. Some newer screens may remain in English even after selecting another language.

Privacy and device security

App Lock can protect SCSK with a four-digit PIN and, on supported devices, biometrics with PIN fallback. Location Services controls location-dependent features. Change Password applies to an email/password account, not an Apple- or Google-only identity.

Storage and diagnostics

Download Quality controls the quality of downloaded media. Clear Cache removes disposable cached files, not deliberate project records, but you should still let active file work finish first.

Photo Sync Health audits photo states. Errors & Diagnostics shows captured errors and connection checks. Help & Tutorials replays guided overlays; Help & Support opens this manual.

Delete your account

  1. Cancel an unwanted Apple or Google store subscription in the applicable store account; deleting SCSK data does not guarantee store cancellation.
  2. Open Settings → Delete Account.
  3. Read the permanent-deletion warning, including projects, jobs, photos, documents, subscription access and organization records.
  4. Choose Permanently Delete only when you intend to remove the account and cloud data.
Back to contents ↑
Chapter 19

Troubleshooting and support

Resolve common access, subscription, sync, permission and performance problems.

Cannot sign in

Confirm the network, email spelling and original sign-in method. Complete email verification if requested. For Apple or Google, cancel the provider sheet and retry once; repeated failures may indicate provider configuration or an account mismatch.

Paid plan has not unlocked

Confirm the same Apple or Google store account made the purchase and the same SCSK account is signed in. Open the payment screen and choose Restore purchases, then keep SCSK open while verification finishes.

Sync is pending or failed

Keep SCSK open on a reliable connection and use Sync Now once. Check Photo Sync Health for media issues and Errors & Diagnostics for connection details. Do not remove the app while unsynced local work remains.

Camera, photos, location or notifications do not work

Open the device Settings app, find SCSK and allow the relevant permission. Return to SCSK and retry the feature. Desktop hardware may not support camera sensors, compass, level, biometrics or mobile notifications.

App feels slow during first use

The first paid-plan sign-in can hydrate workspace data and media in the background. Continue using the Dashboard, avoid triggering repeated manual syncs, keep adequate free storage and leave the app open on stable Wi-Fi until the sync panel settles.

Contact support

Email admin@sc-sk.com for technical help or feedback@sc-sk.com for suggestions. Include the SCSK version, device model and operating system, the affected account email, what you expected, what happened, when it occurred and a screenshot that does not reveal passwords or sensitive site information.
